Viewing Notes

Was able to get the Blu from the library (Winnetka Library) so I can now go see the third installment tomorrow while it’s still in the Dolby Cinema.

Much like the previous film this one is just as ridiculous and over the top. Yet it’s so enjoyable if not a bit conflicting from a pure motivation standpoint (+the business of killing and brown people being bad + nationalism hoo-rah). The body count and violence is like a video game. I do like Butler and Eckhart in these roles. Would’ve liked to see more of Jax getting some action beats; she’s great. It just strikes me as funny that Banning is literally the best of the best… like better than the SAS in this. He’s a superhero. I’m surprised they haven’t adapted this story into a video about a secret service agent that has to save the president.
