Viewing Notes

Celebrating Friday the 13th by finally watching this proper. Only time I’ve seen this before was at Ron’s when I came over for a Halloween movie night and he was pregaming with a marathon on AMC or some other channel. So I’ve only see a few glimpses.

So this isn’t nearly as bad as I’ve always thought. Sure, it’s not great but I was entertained. It’s basically “Jason Goes on a Cruise” and I dug it. It’s hilarious that when the cruise begins they’re clearly no where near NYC w/all the glorious mountains in the background. I knew this was primarily shot in Canada but it’s just so funny they didn’t even try to disguise it. All the wild delusional imagery of child Jason had me thinking of the crazy telekinesis story in Part 7.

This is amusing b/c Jason has this full-on conviction to kill those on the boat and chase them once they arrive in Manhattan despite there being loads of other people around. The subway sequence is hilarious. This would be a fun one to view on the big screen during a horror marathon. Surprised this has never been programmed. Maybe b/c it’s often considered the worst of the sequels?

Loved seeing babyfaced Kelly Hu. When she first appears I was like, “man, she looks like Kelly Hu!” so I checked and it was her. haha
