As a group of university students go out for a night on the town, a sophomore known only as “The Girl with Black Hair” experiences a series of surreal encounters with the local nightlife – all the while unaware of the romantic longings of “Senpai”, a senior student who has been creating increasingly fantastic and contrived reasons to run into her in an effort to win her heart.

Really wonderful animation. Didn’t realize this was by the same director of MIND GAME but it makes sense. I love the animation style and the dreamy quality of the storytelling.
Perhaps the only element that isn’t cool is that this story boils down to wish fulfillment for a stalker; boy likes a girl and stalks her until fate brings them together. Was hoping it would somehow veer into a different direction. However, I love the main girl and how she is driving the core narrative bc she wants all these experiences.
Had me thinking about my stay in Kyoto quite a bit and how different it is compared to Tokyo.
