Dogsitting so I’m near this cinema and can do this matinee. Not really sure what my deal is but I’m just not crazy about mountain climbing movies regardless of how good they might be.
This one isn’t bad but not great either. Based on real events yet hyper-dramatized with ham-fisted romances. Some of the CG looks sketch. Has a few decent action sequences but a lot of this is not very interesting to me. Zhang Ziyi is very good in a throwaway, tacked-on role (but deserves a half star rating bump). Wu Jing is Wu Jing. Giving this a 5.5/10 for effort and actors but I wouldn’t watch it again.
Also putting Jackie Chan in the epilogue so you can use his name in the marketing is not cool.
