Still sick so spinning this up. Not sure why I requested from the library. Guess I saw the title pop up somewhere. Reminds me of the Korean found footage flick I saw earlier this year, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (also released by WellGo).
So this type of horror totally works on me. Despite a few nitpicks I like this flick. I get why it has a low IMDb rating and why folks may not dig this but having explored weird, scary places like this I can buy into the horror and thrills. The found footage opens up some holes but I think this film (and that Korean flick I alluded to) do a better job of answering “why they hell are they still filming?!” question.
There are a few camera angles that don’t add up but most of the shots work. A few of the plot devices are kinda dumb (like why they don’t have their mobile phones) but overall I can accept the situation. I like the scares and where the story goes. Being in a place like this would absolutely scare the shit outta me.
I’d write more thoughts but it’s all spoiler talk.
