Viewing Notes

Didn’t think I was gonna see this in theater but found a handful still showing it including this theater. Wasn’t super keen on viewing the movie but since I could make it work and catch another film I wanted to see there I decided to go for it. I can’t believe it’s already been 18 years since Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

This movie is so bad it’s almost unwatchable. It’s like every line delivery is an eye roll. Only thing that kept me interested is to see the next cameo Kevin Smith would parade out for shits and grins. It’s literally The who’s who of Smith’s first 10 years in his View Askew universe and pretty much every major character from those films is present here.

Perhaps the biggest misstep is giving Harley Quinn a main role and centering the story around her. She cannot act and feels forced in every scene as she over enunciates every word. It’s bizarre to watch. And weird in general to see all these actors so much older now performing these characters again. And so little of this is actually funny.

But hey congrats to Kevin Smith for making films that will only appeal to his core audience. Even if I wished he had retired 10 years ago when he said he was retiring.

The Stan Lee segment was a nice touch.
