Clue for Slot 1: Double feature of short, gory 1980s Japanese creature features
My guesses: Biotherapy (1986) & Guzoo - Part I (1986)
I guessed correctly for the double short film feature that kicked off Tomorrow Romance (see the previous entry GUZOO for notes on the venue).
Again, I was happy that Coffman programmed these, which were a nice appetizer to ease into the day-long event of movies. In this short, a group of scientists develop the GT Medicine (what it’s for no one knows as it’s never really explained. Maybe it’s a cure-all or cancer drug?). A mysterious man in a trenchcoat & fedora shows up to murder each scientist in gruesome fashion looking for the GT Medicine plans. Then it gets real crazy when it’s revealed who the stranger is and why he’s after the plans.
Really fun short with nice gore practical FX. Another fun one to watch with a group.
