Viewing Notes

Another episode from Columbo season 1 listed as a film on TMBd. Not sure the reasoning for this one (last one was directed by Steven Spielberg). Maybe bc of Leslie Nielsen as one of the guest stars? This one also features Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman!). Kinda drives me nuts with how TMDb regulates TV content. For some things they clearly should not be allowed. Even this episode should not be allowed. But in the late 80s there wasn’t a Columbo season per se but several TV movies. Those aren’t added as movies but as episodes. I watched one that was nearly 100 minutes long.

Anyways, this is a good episode. And before Leslie Nielsen turned to mostly comedic roles. It cracks me up how much they’ve written Columbo to be such a contrast to the wealthy suspects he’s investigating. In this ep he pays for the taxi for a rich woman but only gives a 50 cent tip then requests the women pay him back for the $11 fare. And he’s driving around in his beat up old car.
