Viewing Notes

Solid piece of filmmaking with terrific actors doing their thing. I knew a little about this story so it was neat to see it dramatized to get a better understanding. Ruffalo is always so committed and I love how he inhabits a character. Reminds me a lot of SPOTLIGHT. Hathaway gets the thankless wife role but gets that shining moment a la FIRST MAN. Tim Robbins doesn’t get a lot to do but I like him here.

Looks like it was shot on 35mm (not sure if it was but it’s very nice capturing natural light and general gray / autumn colors that are perfect for this story). Nice to see an old fashioned procedural David versus Goliath flick.

Was odd seeing Anne Hathaway magically become more and more attractive as this years go on (she starts rather frumpy). She’s looks younger every time the jump to the next year in the timeline!
