Viewing Notes
Had considered getting the 4K when I saw it was a black friday deal for cheap but wasn’t certain I really cared that much about it so I instead requested the Blu from the library. This second viewing confirmed that the story is a bit flat. However pikachu and the other pokemon really lift the movie to make it very watchable. I wish Watanabe was given more to do. Seems like a waste to even cast him. Nighy is his usual Nighy andI love when he says “MEWTWO” and has to say all this nonsense about pokemon.
Would’ve been nice to get a little more of normal pikachu saying “pika pika” all the time. So cute! Oh I like Lucy and that they outfitted her in “trainer” attire when her and Tim go on the adventure to the closed lab compound.
