Viewing Notes

This movie is a blast. I recall seeing this in theater when it was released but haven’t seen it since so I only recalled a few moments but had forgotten so much. Geena Davis was 39 years old when she made this and she just gets it. Samuel Jackson is really, really good, too. The pacing is great given the 2hr runtime. It barely lets off the gas but just enough to setup the next big setpiece. The central plot w/the truck bomb is really wild to see pre-9/11.

Another one of those films clearly set at Christmas but not about Christmas that I appreciate. Plus so much on-location shooting (in Canada standing in for PA) that makes this a really fun movie. Very happy I decided to watch this, which counts towards both my 12 Days of Christmas and 90s Rewatch Project.
