Slim pickings this week so yeah doing this despite not hearing a good thing about it. Whoa look at this stacked cast! I had no idea but I’m here for it.
Would not have guessed that the person who directed Eyes of my Mother and Piercing also directed this. That’s not to say that this is bad however I don’t think it’s good either. It’s somewhere in between and probably the worst place for any movie.
The movie has some excellent FX and jump scares (too many of those, actually) embedded into a confusing story that hops all over the timeline. This doesn’t do it any favors. Also we don’t get enough time with some of these characters to invest in them. I really like John Cho & Betty Gilpin as a couple but could’ve used a little more on them to amp up the impact of sub-story here.
