Overview

Cars fly, trees fight back, and a mysterious house-elf comes to warn Harry Potter at the start of his second year at Hogwarts. Adventure and danger await when bloody writing on a wall announces: The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened. To save Hogwarts will require all of Harry, Ron and Hermione’s magical abilities and courage.

Viewing Notes

After viewing the first movie over Christmas (my nephew got the entire set on Blu) I decided I’d like to revisit them again since it’s been a while (decade?) since I’ve seen the first films. Surprised my library didn’t have this on Blu (had to order from InterLoan); this seems like an obvious set for them to have on Blu.

Even tho I’ve only logged my first viewing in the theater I know I’ve seen this a couple more times since then but definitely not since I started seriously logging films in 2009 so it has been over a decade since I’ve seen this. One of the things I recall most about this movie is it’s the first time I seeing Jason Isaacs in a film and ever since this film when I’d see him in a movie “oh hey that’s Lucius Malfoy!”

I do know that this particular story is my least favorite of all the books and by extension my least favorite movie. Curious how it will play for me now. Oh yeah this is the introduction of Moaning Myrtle! She’s the voice of Babu Frik in TROS!

Guess time has soften me on this one b/c I think it’s pretty good overall. Some of the CG is a bit dated but at times it looks good even now. Dobby looks not so good. I love the Weasley family (except for Ron). Now I kinda wish I had the set of the movies b/c I could see revisiting them all every so often.
