Viewing Notes

Much more of a psychological thriller than horror but I’m gonna label it horror since it does take some fucked up turns in that direction. I really like how this looks and sounds. For what appears to be a low budget flick just the camera, lighting and audio go a long way to making this look really great. The story is good and there’s nice techniques used to convey the tone. Impressed with the music, too.

I like both woman who portray Valentine and Trezzure and how the latter has stolen the style/fashion however I wish they didn’t resort to wearing wigs. I realize it’s intentional to create that look but how cool would it have been if they grew their hair out and styled it that way. Even if their hair had only been half as long it would be better than the wigs. Just my opinion but it was distracting. Anna Akana is also great in support (and has a better look).

There’s nothing subtle here and similar to the recent Black Christmas it’s quite on point in emphasizing toxic behavior in men and abusive relationships. It detracts at times but I get why it’s so direct. Sadly I’m sure there are plenty of women who can identify with the situations presented here.
