Viewing Notes

DKUTV did an entire day of Cutie Honey programming for Valentines Day (tv series and films). I was most excited about this one because it’s never been released here. This is the most serious take on the IP that I’ve seen; there’s no tongue in cheek *wink wink* humor in this movie. It’s an entirely straight take on if this character were real and facing a villain that wants to destroy the world.

I really dig it and Mariya Nishiuchi’s take on the character. She’s attractive but not overly so like Eriko Sato in the previous live action Cutie Honey film. She was super sexualized (like the anime/manga). In this movie, Cutie Honey is just a badass who kicks some ass when needed.

Wouldn’t mind owning this one if it became available.
