Really know nothing about this outside of it playing at FF and I skipped it bc I knew it would be a Fathom Event eventually. Hope it’s decent since I had to go to Village Crossing for it.
It is good! However, I’m glad I didn’t use a slot to view it at FF. It’s not quite as good as the other two Masaaki Yuasa flicks I’ve seen, nor as weird. It’s a romantic comedy / fantasy that’s tragic. Even as the movie attempts to be uplifting I couldn’t shake the sadness of the situation. I understand that the story is trying to put a positive spin on a terrible event and devastating loss it was a tough hurdle to get over and accept.
