Viewing Notes

This is a neat flick about a space force called SHADO that’s sole purpose is to fight threatening UFO / alien invasions. This is by Gerry Anderson of Thunderbirds fame so all the miniatures are excellent (and really the main draw for me).

The story is basic: UFOs (U-Foes, as they are called here) have infiltrated the atmosphere and SHADO is hunting them. Turns out the aliens are hiding in a volcano so the SHADO team goes out to destroy their base. Besides the cool ships and vehicles and whatnot, the SHADO operatives all have colorful / bizarre uniforms coordinated on their location. For example, at the moon base it’s all women in shiny catsuits and purple hair. In the Skydiver submarine, they sport this odd netted uniform.

All in all this is very fun movie and would be a fun one to own.
