I love these kind of redemption stories in Korean film! A reformed gangster is caught on video saving a bus driver from a bus falling off a bridge then becomes a local hero and catapulted into running for a parliamentary congressman position against a crooked incumbent politician. This isn’t a comedy but there are some humorous moments as well as full on violent scenes. Don Lee has a small cameo and it’s so great when he appears. As good as this is and the feel-good story I’m surprised this didn’t get a theatrical release here. Totally the type of movie the local Korean folks enjoy.
I watched this via the Viki Rakuten app since I saw it was available there via JustWatch. Not the best experience as the commercial breaks are so sporadic and uneven. Not sure I wanna deal with that again for another viewing despite the great Korean content they offer.
