An isolated Canadian town (populated by the weirdest group of people this side of Saturn) has seen its share of problems. First the nut factory closed, then the CATV antenna stopped broadcasting, and now something is gruesomely devouring the townsfolk! Can visiting atomic scientist (and expert on “cool fusion”) Dr. Karel Lamonte solve the mystery before everyone disappears?

Second feature in the Projection Booth weekly watch party and another I hadn’t see already. This one is really fun. It’s kinda like if David Lynch or Cronenberg made a straight comedy. Has this small town with odd characters dealing with an alien invasion. Actually this probably leans even more towards John Paizs. UPDATE—> Oh shit, I didn’t realize that John Paizs directed this!!!! Damn, I’m an idiot but that makes a lot of sense.
I really need to revisit his Crime Wave again. Just an unusual mix of weird story beats and characters trying to thwart an alien attack. Def want to see this again but I don’t think he’s gotten a proper upgrade from DVD.
