Overview

Set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros is an action star who’s stricken with amnesia. His life intertwines with Krysta Now, an adult film star developing her own reality television project, and Ronald Taverner, a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.

Viewing Notes

Such a weird, wild movie that I’ve been wanting to revisit for a while. Was glad when MUBI added it. Forgot a few of the actors that are in this. As relevant as this movie is now it still feels like a different time. Dwayne Johnson has really come a long way but you can see a glimpse of the greatness to come; the dude is just hyper charismatic.

Now I want to revisit LA set movies like Under the Silver Lake and others.
