This was the Drive-In Mob flick of the week. I didn’t participate in the live tweet (I have their hashtag muted) but I caught the film after the fact since they switch it out every week. There’s so many of these Santo films so I’m always game to see another one that I haven’t seen before.
This one is has a mad scientist that’s developed a way to make his brainwashed followers into superhumans, both in strength and youth (they’re all older than they appear incl. the scientist). He’s doing this from his undersea supervillain lair. He also hypnotizes Blue Demon and uses him to carry out his plans and eventually capture Santo.
Hard to say if this is better or worse than other Santo flicks but it was still entertaining esp. when Blue Demon and Santo get to team up and take down the mad scientist and his neo-nazi superhumans. I’d like to track down more Santo films now.
