Viewing Notes

Last Friday during the Projection Booth watch party on KAST when I tuned in to view THE BEAVER TRILOGY this “film” was just ending. I had no idea what it was but of course recognized Christine Taylor and Jack Black. So I looked it up and it was all news to me about this being a failed pilot for a planned tv series produced and directed by Ben Stiller (written by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab). Found it on YT and gave it a spin… it’s really funny!

It’s basically a spoof of the Six Million Dollar Man and Knightrider (Jack Black’s character is Jack Austin and Owen Wilson voices the talking motorcycle). When I watched it I thought it was just goofing on being a television show but according to Wikipedia, it really was a pilot for a series that wasn’t picked up. That’s unfortunate b/c this is pretty fun stuff. Both Black and Wilson are a good comedic duo.
