This is a pretty good made for tv movie! In fact, I’m kinda surprised this was made for tv b/c it definitely gets close to the line of being a bit too intense (by mid-70s standards). It’s also an interesting story about body shaming and bullying… it’s like dark after school special. It even features babyfaced Helen Hunt, famous for her after school special appearance back in the day. I wonder if Mike Dougherty watched this one and used the main character as a template for his witch girl in TRICK R TREAT.
Perhaps the best thing about this, besides it being about witchcraft, is the direction it goes, which was unexpected. I don’t recall seeing this on tv back in the day but I would’ve dug it then.
