Odd yet amusing dark comedy set in Cleveland yet made out to be like a small town thing as if this neighborhood has its own tiny police department with a sheriff. Adds to the peculiar sensibility of the story I suppose. Katie Holmes was a exec producer so I guess she really loved the screenplay. Chose this after viewing PHONE BOOTH for a Katie Holmes double feature but only got about 30min before crashing (had also watched GHOST DOG after Phone Booth for a Forrest Whitaker double so like a double double but didn’t really work out).
Anyways this is an interesting flick that doesn’t quite stick the landing for me but I dig James Badge Dale yet wish Callan Mulvey wasn’t stuck in a bad guy role. It did make me miss living in Cleveland.
