Viewing Notes

RIP Carl Reiner

Never seen this before. Helluva cast! When the news hit today of Carl Reiner’s passing I knew I was going to watch one of his films. I’ve seen most of his most popular titles but none since I started logging films on the regular. Figured I’d check out this one since I hadn’t seen it but have always heard favorable things. It’s definitely funny with a more than a few LOL moments. The deliberate spoofing on all these crime thrillers does get a bit weary but a lot of this is done well. Reiner even shows up in a cameo a la Hitchcock.

I requested DEAD MEN DON’T WEAR PLAID from the library b/c that’s my favorite of his films and one my best friend introduced me to when we were in high school. Want to continue celebrating this astonishing life that gave so much and influenced so many.
