Ultraman Zearth (1996)

Directed by Shinya Nakajima

Action | Science Fiction | Family

Overview

Ultraman Zearth hails from The Land of Pikari in Nebula Z95. He has a big red face and dislikes dirt, and will go to great lengths to wash it off his hands. His goal is to clean the polluted Earth. He transforms with an electric toothbrush, which is consistent with his hygiene fixation. He’s not quite adept at being a superhero, but at least he tries his best.

Length 51 minutes

Actors

Masaharu Sekiguchi | Yuka Takaoka | Takaaki Ishibashi | Noritake Kinashi | Keiji Hasegawa | Yutaka Kanezuka | Hiromoto Okubo

Viewing Notes

Despite featuring Takeshi Kaga, Chairman Kaga from IRON CHEF, this is a little too goofy. Ultraman Zearth doesn’t like getting dirty and can’t use his Shula ray to stop the kaiju. I do like how he looks. Very family oriented so that’s cool but not a great Ultraman flick. However, this is good for early Saturday morning viewing.

There’s a score cue that is the same as the Batman Elfman score. Odd to hear that over and over. I do believe that was Hiroko Sakurai as the civilian woman (she was in the first Ultraman series).

This is part of Day 3 programming on DKUTV for KaijuConLine weekend. Why Josef didn’t do these Ultraman flicks yesterday for Ultraman Day is a mystery.
