Viewing Notes

This is a very sexually charged flick!—> There’s a lot of sex. A lot. And there’s a lot of great food. In a nutshell, Naoko is getting married to a military man and her former lover Kenji returns to his hometown for her wedding. Because they once had this torrid love affair in their younger days, Naoko wants one more fling before tying the knot. However, it doesn’t stop there and things get complicated. Then the story goes to some unexpected places. A very adult story in a very adult movie. It’s nice to see two people just enjoying a physical relationship because they like it. Great photography, too.

Not a movie I’d probably revisit yet a rather titillating story for all the sex. It’s also kinda cool and impressive that a film like this was awarded some of the highest accolades:

-Winner, Best Film of the Year, 2020 Kinema Junpo Award
-Winner, Best Actress, 2020 Kinema Junpo Award
-Winner, Best Film of the Year, 2019 Eiga Geijutsu magazine poll
-Winner, Best Film Award, 41st Yokohama Film Festival
