Viewing Notes

Fun movie that has the same energy of the Abbott and Costello flicks I’d watch on a Sunday afternoon. I laughed at many unintentionally amusing things like the plane landing in a vast open field area. Cut to scene of them sitting in a jungle. Cut to scene of them on a rocky coastline next to the ocean. So hilarious and nonsensical.

Just the mansion being out in this secluded area with no real way to access it was funny. Plus having the weird dilapidated Christian church next to it?! Then all the guests hearing the singing like it’s just a thing. Very funny. The adaptation is fine and of course I love to watch any and all adaptations of this story.

That opening dance sequence is fucking great and seemed really familiar. Then I saw in the notes that it was featured in GHOST WORLD. That’s a movie long overdue for a revisit.
