Really enjoyed this candid interview with Jacqueline Bisset about getting her role in Truffaut’s DAY FOR NIGHT. Some nice anecdotes about Truffaut’s style and working on that set. She indicated that this was a big step up for her and opened the door for bigger roles later on. She’s really great in the movie and a reminder for me why I was so obsessed with her during my formative years in the 70s (it was the movie THE DEEP that introduced me to her). She is just radiant throughout this movie.
Also neat to hear that THE LAST OF SHEILA was filming around the corner so both casts would watch the filming of the other movie.
This interview is one of many on the Criterion Blu-ray release of DAY FOR NIGHT.
