Viewing Notes
This is a weird movie! It’s more like a pilot for a tv series in how it’s paced, shot and the overall look. So many medium-shot scenes. Also it feels like a pilot b/c it’s so rough around the edges understanding that there’s a season ahead of episodes to smooth out those edges and wrinkles (wish that were the case b/c I would watch this tv show). If fact, I think this would play better on TV than a movie screen. It just feels small and there’s only six cast members.
Anyways, I mostly like this movie and glad to see it finally after so many delays (tho it’s not surprising why). Honestly could not believe this thing was real until it actually started playing. It did make me want to revisit LOGAN which I haven’t seen since the theater. Also thrilled that my girl Anya Taylor-Joy is officially in the MCU, not that it matters much, but damn I wish they offered her a pile of cash to return in whatever next X-men thing Disney does.
The Pickwick was a good choice for this given they’re actually doing daytime matinee screenings (all others Cinemark, AMC, Regal, etc only doing 5pm on showtimes) and doing temperature checks on all guests. This enabled me to see it cheaply for 6 bucks and with almost no one in their second largest theater (only 3 other folks).
—>Just saw that Antonio Banderas is listed as an actor in this movie. WTF he’s not in this movie. Jesus christ people. I deleted it on TMDb.
