The description via TMDb gives away one of the central mysteries of the film. There’s a little more that isn’t mentioned but it’s really a spoiler given how much of the movie happens before that reveal occurs. Sadly it fizzles in the finale. I’d love to see the restoration release by Severin some day. If things were different I would’ve purchased that Baker / Lenzi giallo set already.
Also this is considered a giallo by the pure definition of the sub-genre and not by its more understood demarcation as applied in italo-horror and horror adjacent films. That is say that this doesn’t feature a serial killer wearing black gloves murdering women with a straight razor. It’s more of the sleazy pulpy type where a guy has an affair then is targeted for termination. I only mention this b/c I see the term tossed around for all sorts of stuff whether it is appropriate or not of what it’s being used to describe (see: Suspiria, etc.).
