Another old library request finally arrived after a long waitlist. I believe I put the hold on this title back in May. This is a perfectly okay movie to put on while sorting trash. That is to say it’s a good adaptation of the comic book story, which I read as a graphic novel back around time that was released. I had forgotten some of the story beats which are a little condensed here for a 80 minute runtime.
Back when Red Son was release as a comic it seemed like a unique elseworlds concept to imagine Supe’s origin under communism. Viewing this now, it’s a little too spot on with the current political climate which I’m sure they never imagined. This story boils down to everyone think they are right when they are really wrong so lets fuck up the world. Only Wonder Woman is unimpeachable here. She’s the best thing in this.
