Viewing Notes

Until very recently I did not know this movie existed, another Christopher Guest joint with his usual crew. When I looked it up the ratings were not favorable so maybe that’s why it hasn’t gotten the same attention as BEST IN SHOW or WAITING FOR GUFFMAN. Admittedly this movie doesn’t have the same punch as those but I still laughed a several moments. Perhaps this satire on Hollywood awards season from the inside is too on the nose. The performances are spot on. The Warner Bros dvd is severely dated and looks awful on my HDTV. I would gladly buy a Blu if one were available. I just love this cast and the dry humor.

There are a bunch of outtake scenes included in the bonus features. They are equally as funny.

RIP Fred Willard whom we lost earlier this year. Honestly hard to believe that he was 72 when this movie was released. He looks great in this film!
