Viewing Notes
Same deal as last year when they aired this mashup movie between two sets of Super Sentai for the Henshin Holiday event. Couldn’t remember anything about it so I decided to watch it again since the TMDb description is utterly useless. This story involves the villains wanting the Flower of Heaven which one of the team members has. Not sure what it will allow the villains to do but it doesn’t really matter. Probably the best sequence is when two of the female members (one Magi and one Deka) are kidnapped and bond while waiting to be rescued. As noted previously this is perfectly fine and somewhat silly. I do like the moment when the female rangers transform into the goth outfits. Also other than some loose framing this has nothing to do with Christmas.
Prior to this I watched the two featured winter episodes of Return of Ultraman. Haven’t seen any of this series but have been interested in it since the recent Blu set was released. I really like the look of this show. These were cool episodes bc they actually do on location shooting in winter locales where there is a ton of snow. One scene is shot while it’s snowing and it’s great! (Ultraman faces off with the Abominable Snowman, natch) Someday I’ll have to pick up this set.
