Third movie in Mike’s first watch party of 2021 via Kast (I skipped the second movie since I had seen it: Sabata). Wanted to check this one out bc it’s a Japanese feature I hadn’t heard of it and looked interesting. It is! It’s also very strange and nonlinear so it was a tad confusing trying to grasp everything and why it was happening. tbh I still don’t know what exactly the central plot was other than a curse is getting transferred from one person to the next via a token of some sort. There’s a young woman who can see into the near future to warn ppl but it seems to do little good.
I could be wrong on that but that’s how I read it. Would love to track down a DVD but I don’t one has been released outside of Japan (this file had fansubs that were intermittent which didn’t help matters). Visuals and horrors are definitely a nod to Junji Ito and I’m guessing this manga author was influenced by him. If I didn’t know I would’ve thought this was a Junji Ito adaptation.
