Took a break to catch the rebroadcast of this Tsuburaya / Hanna-Barbera co-production which I had not seen before. Really like the animation style which isn’t the usual Hanna-Barbera look so I assumed it was done by the Japanese crew and was correct. Hearing Andrienne Barbeau was fun as I kept imagining her expression with every line reading.
It’s wild to see the WTC towers in an animated flick. Curious if the animated GI Joe series has it featured as well (I never watched it but I’d probably give it a shot now). Also crazy that the Ultra base is inside Mt Rushmore. Much of this *feature* feels like a series but I think it was made for tv so the intentional breaks make sense. This would’ve been a fun series had they gone forward. Since Ultraman is part of HB canon I wish we would’ve gotten some crossovers like with Scooby-Doo.
