A wealthy real estate investor is forced to watch the rape of his girlfriend and then is sent a film showing the fact. He hires a hitman, Sho, and shows him the film, so that the detective can get rid of the criminals. But the boss of the criminal band is Ko, Sho’s archnemesis, who raped and murdered his girlfriend.

Viewing Notes
Part the Keiko Sato spotlight on MUBI featuring a few early examples of pink films. Wouldn’t classify this as even a traditional pinku as it is really a gangster flick shot like an avant-garde film with short bursts of nudity sprinkled across the runtime. In fact, the sex/nudity aspect is such a small part of this movie. Most of the film centers around this anti-hero Sho who wants to rescue a young woman from the underground filmmakers exploiting her.
Fascinating film to view bc of the avant-garde approach. The b&w photography and jazz score also add to this. would be a cool movie to remake now with Asano Tadanabu in the lead. Also use the the more literal translation of Dutch Wife of the Wasteland for the title.
