Caught the late rebroadcast of this via DKUTV. Was a kaiju flick that I hadn’t seen. This is a “movie” that is really four episodes of this TV series mashed together. It even includes the episode introduction for each episode. So basically it’s just like binge watching the first four episodes (not sure if there were more).
Anyways, this is the dime store version of Godzilla. AGON the giant monster has the same origin, a creature revived by A & H-Bomb testing then grows large bc of nuclear waste dropped in the ocean. He shows up on the coast in search of energy to consume. However, it’s a rather dorky looking monster. There’s a subplot with some crooks looking for their lost briefcase of narcotics (looks like cocaine) that sits on the ocean floor at the foot of the resting AGON. It’s pretty silly but never played for laughs esp. when a kid is kidnapped. Very odd film (tv series).
