Second movie in Paul’s “no theme” watch party via Kast and another one I haven’t seen but has been on my watchlist for a long time, esp. due to Paul occasionally mentioning it. Glad he programmed this one bc it’s wild. Wouldn’t call this a good movie but it is certainly a odd beast packed full of music performances usually led by his then wife Suzanna Love. The numbers cut across several styles of music mostly being a sub-genre of rock & roll. Those are really the highlight (the ones that were actually decent). As Paul noted during the broadcast, this feels like a more earnest Shock Treatment.
This is definitely one that could use an updated released and ripe for rediscovery but Paul said that the VinSyn guys he spoke to indicated that there are no longer any surviving elements to make a good release. That’s unfortunate.
