Overview

Found this on Kanopy and was intrigued bc it stars Fan Bingbing and Leon Lai (and Rene Liu, whom I didn’t realize until the movie gets going). Fairly standard supernatural thriller where a dead woman’s (Bingbing) spirit returns and is resentful of her ex-fiance’s new marriage. All of that is fine but what I like the most was the 1930s Shanghai period setting. Kept envisioning these same streets covered in snow from Zhang Yimou’s film CLIFF WALKERS, which occurs during the same period.
