Viewing Notes

Dinner & movie: second movie in The Last Drive-In episode this week and as noted in my MANIAC COP notes, the main reason I tuned in was for the segments with Bruce Campbell and Bill Lustig. The first time I saw this movie was at MBT w/Lustig in attendance to intro and provide a Q&A. That was a excellent screening. Great to see/hear him again talk about making these movies. He mentioned during that Q&A about seeing that bit in POLICE STORY w/the handcuffs and wanting to do his own take on it. Such an incredible stunt setpiece only to be followed by that man-on-fire stunt at the end. I agree w/Lustig that this is the better movie of the first two despite Campbell getting killed off early.

I don’t own this one but I’d definitely like to give this another proper viewing eventually after hearing Lustig talk about it again. I really the presence Robert Z’Dar gives the character in this movie.
