Viewing Notes

So happy that Ron got this Lucky Stars set from Eureka! Had eyes on it since it was announced. Had only seen the middle film (MY LUCKY STARS) so I was very excited to view this first movie featuring this core cast of ex-cons turning a new leaf. This is really funny with a few action flourishes sprinkled throughout including an insane roller skating setpiece featuring Jackie Chan, who is a supporting character here.

The stunts are amazing but I also love the deep Golden Harvest cast that “blink and you’ll miss them” like Moon Lee as Yuen Biao’s girlfriend in a very short scene between him and Jackie Chan. So much to enjoy here especially Sammo Hung’s catsuit (he’s particularly hilarious along with Richard Ng) and the lovely Cherie Chung, who actually gets more to do than get picked on.

Definitely keeping this set on my wishlist. Very impressed so far.
