Viewing Notes

Grabbed this off the shelf at Erie Library when I was browsing their Blu-ray collection. Held off viewing for a long time bc I was hoping for a rep screening in Chicago. Didn’t happen and now I’m no longer in Chicago so yeah. Damn what a great film. I love James Caan in this. Bonus that it’s set in Chicago and super amusing that he “blows up” the Green Mill. Will never forget my visit there with Yumi.

The score by Tangerine Dream is ::fire emoji:: so fucking good. Would love to have this one. I watched both interviews with Mann and Caan. Wish they were longer especially Caan’s. He is a real life character with so many entertaining stories. Putting this one on my Criterion wishlist for a future sale.

TIL that the Potbelly in this movie (on Lincoln Avenue) is still there!! Definitely gonna pay a visit next time I’m back.
