Viewing Notes

Really happy we were able to catch this in theater, albeit a one night only affair but still very cool and a really nice theater at Dairy Arts Center. Hopefully will be back for more films there.

The movie rocks! I only knew two (okay, three) main things about this movie going into it: family trapped in a bathroom during a storm and that it was super bleak and depressing (and that Pat Healy’s character was awful). The first thing, the general description / logline didn’t sell me but Pat Healy being in this movie did b/c I will watch anything he’s in.

Now I’m scratching my head over all the reaction tweets I read indicating that this movie is bleak and depressing. It’s fucking hilarious! Pitch black comedy with an outstanding performance from Healy. Also love how wild this movie gets w/the witchcraft elements and fear of the unknown. Our imagination does a lot of the heavy lifting here based on some wonderful cues. Really dig that approach to a “all in one location” flick.
