This screened at G-Fest years ago but I missed it (was part of the screening room programming) but I remember the buzz around it. Feels like a proof on concept for the eventual SHIN GODZILLA film despite being more like a Evangelion side-story. If I hadn’t seen SHIN GODZILLA I would think this was a fan film for Evangelion, which is funny since Higuchi teamed up with Hideaki Anno to make SHIN. The kaiju aliens in this resemble the Angels from Evangelion.

This was part of the Shinji Higuchi birthday marathon on DKUTV.
