Decided to watch this again since it was included in DKU’s two day Keita Amemiya event for October. I’ve skipped it in the past since I’ve seen it before but a few weeks ago I watch the final act on Midnight Pulp and it got me wanting to see the whole movie again. Apparently it’s been six years since I last watched it, which was at the first TR marathon at the Prop Theatre.
I really dig this movie and all of Amemiya’s crazy practical FX and suit designs. It cracks me up that is sometime in a post-apocalypse future but the stormtroopers show up with a conversion van to fight Hakaider and the rebels. I feel like I own this one on DVD or VHS but this really needs a restored release on Blu (along w/Amemiya’s other films).
