After seeing LAST NIGHT IN SOHO (and going for round 2 tomorrow) I needed more Anya Taylor-Joy. Only had vague recollections of this movie but knew that I enjoyed it I decided to get this from the High Plains Library (not streaming anywhere). It was a good revisit bc I had forgotten ATJ almost entirely but remembered a lot of Olivia Cooke and Anton Yelchin. I didn’t pick up on it before but this is a solid neo-noir. Would love to see this story done in period 40s/50s b&w.
The end is a tad shaky but I really dug everything leading up to it. Cooke is very good but ATJ has the better character arc and delivers on it. She’s so good.
RIP Anton
