I hate Eric Tsang. So much. His appearance often ruins a movie for me. Since he’s a major character in this movie, I hate most of it. What pushes my rating up is Jet Li and a ridiculous Simon Yam in a rare “action character” role. I’d almost consider getting this on Blu in its original Cantonese bc my old DVD is the same as this version on Prime (the US version was a Columbia TriStar deal similar to BLACK MASK: english dubbed and glued to a hiphop soundtrack b/c of the idea that making these urban and edgy they’d sell better) but I would need a “remove Eric Tsang” filter. That said, the english dub on this is terrible. One of the worst I’ve heard for a 90s release so it would be nice to hear and see a better release despite Tsang’s involvement.
