Viewing Notes

Been wanting to see this for a *long* time… being a Jun Fukuda apologist. Was really happy that DriveInMob chose this film for their Japanuary live tweet schedule. Like many Fukuda films, this movie has some odd choices but still has some of his signature flourishes. I’m smitten with Marie (Yumi Kaoru); in an opening scene she’s in a bright blue gown for no explicable reason. Then in Turkey she’s sporting this wonderful pink jumpsuit. She finishes the film in a white jumpsuit. She’s great.

SPOILER:

There’s also a Very Good Boy™️  German shepherd “Caesar” that basically saves all the heroes. Tomisaburo Wakayama (Lone Wolf & Cub) is the big bad. The finale is totally batshit and worth the price of admission.
