Something fishy is going on in the anti-Drug Trafficking Unit of the HK Police, and only a few honest cops know that the corruption goes all the way to the top. However, they must prove their case quickly, and by unconventional means, after they are framed for murder and drug-trafficking themselves. Viewing Notes

Was happy to view this one again since I had forgotten much of it and it stars so many fresh faces. Still stand by my previous notes but upping my rating for all the great stunts. The stunt doubles really got a workout in this (esp. Simon Yam’s and Jacky Cheung’s for sure). Maybe Donnie is the only one doing his own fight work. This movie is shockingly violent, not in a gory way just has some crazy moments. This series of films is another one that needs attention from 88 or Eureka in a boxset. Really want to see the sequel that features Yen in the lead, apparently.

What had me thinking the most during this viewing is how there was a decade or so where HK really tried to make Jacky Cheung a big star. Maybe he was a big star in HK during that period between the late 80s and mid-90s but unlike many of his co-stars, never really broke out of HK. Co-stars like Simon Yam, Jet Li, Andy Lau, Donnie Yen and Tony Leung to name a few. Even watching him in these movies he just lacks that “it” factor. I like the guy but he never feels on the same level as the others when placed side by side.

Really don’t understand how Simon Yam isn’t in my top 50 actors watched bc that MF is in (almost) every damn HK flick I watch. He barely makes into my top 100!

This was part of the DKUTV Year of the Tiger weekend programming to celebrate the lunar new year and year of the tiger. All the films are HK productions with “tiger” in the title.
